The project called “Makan Ngga Makan Asal Kumpul”, uses the term that refers to the cultural gathering in Indonesia as one of an ephemeral platform, extending the ideas from every artist that is participating in food practices critically related to health, culture, socio-politics and any other arts through exhibitions, shows, and workshops. With these various artistic methods and different issues from each artists, the presented works are designed to negotiate and inform any ideas that are related to food bio-political practices in
regional-global context, as the way to observe how this art practice may impact the critical value of this problem, and also to give more explanation about the relationship among food agencies such as genes and cell fragments, proteins and enzymes, bacteria and fungi with more extended context in relation to contemporary bio-political forces. How can art and its discourses inform those problems? What kind of artistic methods can be offered relating to the current issues of exploitation eating and food?
