M. Haryo Hutomo (b. Jakarta 1990) lives and works in Jakarta, Indonesia. Haryo is an artist who is interdisciplinarily working based on the context of space and time. His practice tries to examine the reciprocal relationship between society, art, technology in order to conduct critical engagements and manifest new conceptual, theoretical, methodological, translational innovations that integrate and move beyond discipline-specific approaches to address a common problem. His practice focuses on principle: how art engage with the praxis of life. Haryo explore the interaction of environment surround him in both practical and aesthetic ways. He try to not only reflect on the tremendous impact of artistic intervention when developing his works, but also attempts to provide scenarios for alternative ways of dealing with its environments.
